INFORMATION

The Radius of Hollow (ROH) refers to the curve ground into the bottom of your hockey skate blades. It is a critical factor in determining skate performance, as it creates the inside and outside edges that directly impact your grip and glide on the ice.

How ROH Works

• Measurement: ROH is expressed in fractions of an inch (e.g., 1/2", 5/8").

• The Inverse Relationship: * Smaller Radius: Results in a deeper hollow and sharper edges.

  • Larger Radius: Results in a shallower hollow and flatter edges.

• The Trade-off: ROH is all about finding the perfect balance between Grip and Glide.

Deep ROH (Smaller Numbers: e.g., 3/8", 1/2")

• Pros: Deeply bites into the ice for superior grip. Ideal for sharp turns, quick stops, and explosive acceleration. Perfect for agile, aggressive skaters.

• Cons: Higher friction reduces glide. It requires more energy to maintain speed, which can lead to faster fatigue.

Shallow ROH (Larger Numbers: e.g., 5/8", 3/4", 1")

• Pros: Reduced friction provides excellent glide. Ideal for maintaining high straight-line speeds and conserving energy during long shifts.

• Cons: Less "bite" or grip on the ice, which may cause sliding during tight turns or sudden stops. Requires precise edge control.

Factors to Consider When Choosing Your ROH

Choosing the right ROH depends on your skating style, body weight, ice conditions, and position.

Body Weight

• Lighter Players: Can benefit from a deeper ROH to ensure the blades "bite" into the ice despite less body weight.

• Heavier Players: Naturally exert more pressure on the ice; therefore, a shallower ROH often provides plenty of grip while maximizing glide.

Skating Style & Position

• Agile Playmakers (Forwards): Often prefer a deeper ROH for quick pivots, starts, and stops.

• Speed Specialists (Defensemen): Often prefer a shallower ROH to improve glide and straight-line speed. Note: Goalies may prefer a deeper hollow for quick lateral pushes.

Ice Hardness

• Soft Ice: The blade sinks easily, so a shallower ROH is recommended to prevent "digging in" too much.

• Hard/Cold Ice: The surface is slippery, so a deeper ROH helps the edges grip the hard surface.

Conclusion

ROH is a highly personal preference in ice hockey. There is no "perfect" setting—only the one that feels most comfortable and efficient for you. We recommend experimenting with different radii to find the optimal setup that unlocks your full potential on the ice.

INFORMATION

Speed is often considered the most critical skill in ice hockey. PowerSk8r skate weights are on-ice leg training equipment designed to help improve endurance, power, and speed through repetition and resistance.

The 1 lb set is recommended for users over 100 lbs, while the 1/2 lb set is recommended for those under 100 lbs (typically men's skate size 7 or smaller). These weights are engineered to provide a comfortable fit and a consistent attachment position, utilizing heavy-duty hook-and-loop straps.

They can be used for both on-ice and off-ice training and are easily compatible with rollerblades. Wear them during training and practice, then remove them for games. You can expect to feel an immediate improvement in performance right after training.

This is a newly engineered padded inner glove. Inspired by cycling gloves, the finger-cut design minimizes stitching, allowing you to feel the direct touch of your catching glove. Based on feedback from 20 professional goaltenders, thumb protection has been reinforced, and slim padding has been added to high-impact areas.

Key Points

Grip: The silicone lining enhances internal grip within the glove, boosting overall performance.

Protection: Strategically placed padding on the thumb and palm disperses impact and aids in recovery.

Fit & Comfort: The full Lycra backhand provides a lightweight, comfortable feel and allows for easy washing and drying. The four-finger open structure maximizes tactile feel on the catching surface.

INFORMATION

The Goalie Blok Pro is a goaltender-specific protective sleeve designed to prevent pucks from riding up the paddle and making contact with the fingers, specifically the index finger. Simply slide it around the stick paddle and position it for the most effective coverage.

This upgraded version features a more robust material, providing unwavering reliability on the ice. It has passed force tests of up to 110 mph and tear-resistance testing, while being approximately 7g lighter than the original Goalie Blok. Additionally, a 1.5mm durability layer has been added to provide stable protection against stick edge impacts and direct high-velocity shots.

Key Features

• Passed force testing up to 110 mph

• Features an additional 1.5mm durability layer

• Made in Canada

• Approximately 7g lighter than the previous model

• Slides around the paddle with adjustable positioning

ABOUT BRAND

The founder and inventor of Goalie Blok, Guy St. Vincent, repeatedly suffered finger injuries early in his goaltending career from pucks riding up the paddle. To solve this problem, he spent years in development before introducing the Goalie Blok prototype in 2018, which immediately caught the attention of goaltenders worldwide. Since then, the product has undergone continuous improvement to become today's Goalie Blok Pro. With a clear goal of solving real-game problems, we provide practical protective solutions that help goaltenders of all levels play with confidence. Goalie Blok is a brand symbolized by resilience and ingenuity. Protecting the future of the sport and maintaining the trust of goaltenders—that is Goalie Blok.

The Paddle Wedge was created to address the recurring issue of finger and knuckle impacts that additional blocker padding simply couldn't solve. The core principle is to deflect the puck away, ensuring it never makes direct contact with these vulnerable areas.

The 2.0 model features a sloped design that guides the puck to glide upward and away. Its hollow-core construction makes it incredibly lightweight, ensuring it never feels bulky or burdensome during a game. Compared to its predecessor, the 2.0 is significantly more compact and streamlined.

Prolab Catchball: Goalie Reaction & Hand-Eye Coordination Trainer

Product Overview

The Prolab Catchball is a high-performance training tool engineered to sharpen a goaltender’s reaction time and hand-eye coordination with maximum efficiency. Even just a few minutes of use during warm-ups or cool-downs can lead to significant improvements in reflexes, visual tracking, and hand positioning.

Due to its short flight time—simulating a quick release from the slot—the Catchball repeatedly reinforces the brain-to-muscle neural pathway. It is an essential tool for mastering Head-Trajectory Theory (integrating eyes, head, and body) and Box Control (driving the gloves toward the puck to cut down angles).

Key Features

• High-Resilience Performance: Provides faster return speeds for higher-intensity, high-repetition drills.

• Versatile Training: Works on various wall or floor surfaces; perfect for combining with lunges, jumps, or sprint drills.

• Enhanced Visual Tracking: Sharpens the visual skills required to follow fast-moving targets.

• Muscle Memory & Speed: Stimulates core engagement and arm speed while building permanent muscle memory.

Expected Results

• Reduced Reaction Time: React faster to unexpected shots.

• Improved Visual Tracking: Maintain a lock on the puck through its entire flight path.

• Precise Hand Positioning: Consistently place your gloves in the optimal save position.

• Strengthened Box Control: Solidify your routine for closing down shooting lanes.

Consistent, intentional training with the Prolab Catchball will deliver a noticeable boost in your puck-saving performance.
